Recently, I had an unique application for interior design advice.

A husband wanted to surprise his wife for her birthday with a restyling of the living room and bedroom! It was his wife who got the idea of restyling their house at first. She had read about the possibility of employing a designer for interior design jobs. Although his wife found the house they live in pretty beautiful, she realized that it lacked warmth and ambiance. She discussed this with her husband, as it seemed a great idea to her. The husband seemed indifferent to this plan and said it would be better to manage without a designer. Although he said this to his wife, he secretly mailed the interior tipster the following day. As the client was far away from me and had honored me with this opportunity, I took an appointment for 1 hour with him on a day when his wife was not home.

It was just like a secret rendezvous! Together, we went through the entire house, and the problems were talked about. The base of the house was nice and only additions were needed to make it coherent overall. The tips and suggestions I put forward were in line with the needs and tastes of the customer and his wife. Our next meeting took place at an interior retailer. We wisely chose new chairs for the dining room, lamps, pillows and a carpet. It was decided with the interior retailers, that the orders would be in the warehouse and would be picked up the day before the restyling.

Any plans were implemented by some people who were invited by the husband. On the next day at 9 am, the family unit (husband, father and mother) was ready, and they started painting a wall suspension, and placing new lighting in the bedroom and living space. Holes were drilled and dimmers were installed. When the wall was finally done, I could get to work. Mother took the vacuum cleaner and collectively we cleaned up every part. The arrangement of the seating area was renewed to a more open style. The table lamps in the living room were put together and installed. The toys of the daughter found a permanent place in the closet. The accessories owned by them were utilized in the new layout. New artworks were hung. Flowers in the colors of the pillows and accessories gave the finishing touch. Around 4 pm the styling was finished, and I returned home. I anxiously waited to see what the wife's response would be. It was very exciting!

The redeeming word came in an e-mail from the woman. She was very excited! In her own words she wrote: "We had the pleasure of experiencing". It was rewarding that such a successful action came from a satisfied customer. And what a lovely man to present such a thing to his wife! Surely it is a good idea for Mother's Day too!
